Name:Jean Grey-Summers
Birthdate:Jun 30
Location:Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, United States of America
The daughter of a college professor and a housewife, Jean Grey had what many would consider an idyllic childhood, but that doesn’t really make a good superhero origin story, now does it? Jean Grey is a telekinetic and telepathic mutant and an original member of the X-Men. Once the weakest link of a male-dominated teenaged superhero team, Jean went on to become one of the X-Men’s greatest villains as the Dark Phoenix… and then she died. A couple times, actually. It’s like a running joke for the X-Men, it’s kind of ridiculous how many times she’s died. She has a long history, it’s been retconned a bunch, but if you’re interested you can read more about that here.

Submitted for your approval is the typist’s sort of AU dream version of Jean Grey. If Marvel is going to shit all over fifty years of canon, I’m going to do whatever the fuck I want. Fuck Brian Bendis! (I apologize, Mr. Bendis. I don’t have a beef with you. Personally.) She is mostly canon, but she is a Jean Grey whose connection to the Phoenix is clearer and whose connection to the Phoenix isn’t a plot device. Like, I don’t give a fuck, unless you have a really great story you want to drag my muse into, my Jean is not going to get all huffed up on some Dark Phoenix and start killing everyone. (And even then it's iffy.) This is a Jean Grey, the White Phoenix of the Crown, still doing her Phoenix work, but in an earthly physical form. Jean is more comfortable and confident, she’s made peace with the whole Phoenix thing, understands the limits of its power, understands her limits as a host of the Phoenix Force (y'know, the direction she was going before Morrison killed her off), but is not without some challenges. Being too perfect would be boring, after all.
